Megan&Sean

We met in October 2023, through the timeless tradition of online dating, with our first date taking place at Valerie's Wine Bar in Ashford. Sean had booked a table, unaware that there was to be a burlesque show that same night. After our first drink; an old fashioned for Sean and an amaretto sour for Megan; the owner let us know the show was about to start, asking us to close the curtains next to our table and inviting us to watch for free due to a last-minute cancellation.

It turned out to be a brilliant icebreaker. Megan genuinely enjoyed the show, and thankfully for Sean, it wrapped up after just five minutes - long enough to raise eyebrows, short enough to spare him the sweating. Remarkably, Megan still agreed to a second date, proving she was either very understanding or had questionable judgment.

After six wonderful months of dating, we decided to take the next step and move in together... to save money, as Sean likes to romantically explain.

And on a beautiful clear day in early February 2025, Sean suggested a walk along the seafront in Whitstable. While Megan was distracted by the shells, pointing out her favourites and collecting a few along the way, Sean quietly got down on one knee, before telling Megan “look at this rock”. Megan turned to look in surprise to see not the kind of rock she was expecting! Sean then popped the question, and of course Megan said yes.
